The mission of the Recreation Department is to develop a progressive and responsive organization, which will not only provide a variety of meaningful leisure activities for the community but improve the quality of life for all citizens. It is our intent to build partnerships with all people, businesses, organizaions, etc. as well as achieve the goals and aspirations of all population groups.
The Recreation Department hosts recreational activities for Winsted citizens of all ages. Special Programs are offered on a monthly basis. Recreational programs are offered year round and vary by season.
The Recreation Department is governed by The Town of Winchester Board of Recreation. This is a 13 member volunteer board that by charter has the power to adopt rules and regulations for the conduct of all business within Recreation jurisdiction. The Town of Winchester Recreation Department has one full time director, Alesia Corso.
